FAQ: HOW MANY HOURS OF PREPARATION PER DAY IS REQUIRED TO GET SUCCESS IN GROUP1, GROUP2. AND OTHER COMPETITIVE EXAMINATIONS?
Most of my friends posed me this questions now and then.
I would like to recall a famous quotation by Abraham Lincaln, says,
“Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe.”
― Abraham Lincoln
Only sharp axe can do the exact job within an hour of which it cannot be done even for hours with the axe having no sharpness. this could be implicable for group1, group2, civil services aspirants also. Dont think and count how many hours you are preparing for, instead, you must concentrate on how well the concepts or topics are understandable and digestive to you.
I would like to give one more example to you. Mentioning two people of them one is still fighting with his hard preparation and another one is in government service, serving as TAHSILDAR. The very interesting fact that made me mention these two people is, succeeded candidate used to prepare for only 2 hours a day but used to utilize his sundays for preparation without coaching and qualified for the interview. And the 'STILL ASPIRANT' used to prepare for 15 hours a day, at Ashoknagar area along with his wife ( she was also an aspirant, but for police job(SI)) and didn't even qualify for mains .
what was the reason? only reason was the succeeded candidate has excellent commant over the topics as he is a TEACHER , grasps quickly whatever topic he is studying and the later is an average candidate in his studies and used to take much time to understand.
It is not matter how much time you study but it is very important to focus on how you study.
Even 4 hours of preparation is also enough if you can understand the contents and the main thing you have to concentrate on is ' your preparation must be examination point of view. Never study like as you are attending an academic examinations.
"One important key to success is self-confidence. An important key to
self-confidence is preparation."
